02.07.2008 - Inscription on the World Heritage list UNESCO of
the Primeval Beech Forest of Slovakia
On july 2nd 2007 the primeval beech forest of the Carpathian will be inscribed on the World Heritage List on UNESCO in recognition of the exceptional and universal value of this ecosystems for the benefit of all humanity.
It represents a recognition of the pioneer work in promoting and studying the beech virgin forests of our colleagues Prof. Stefan Korpel and Prof. Milan Saniga of the Tecnical University Zvolen in Slovakia, both members and chairmen of Pro Silva Slovakia.
